2 New Fold-a-Cover Videos Created to Support the Installation Process
We recently developed two new videos to assist in the installation process: A Blade Seal Installation video and a Latch Timing Adjustments video. These videos were developed in the R&D Lab here at the Fold-a-Cover manufacturing facility in Caledonia, MI. The purpose of the videos is to give a more in depth look into the installation process by showcasing a few of the more important aspects. Check out the videos, along with a brief description below. These videos can always be found here: https://www.foldacover.com/photos-and-video/installation-videos/
Fold-a-Cover Blade Seal Installation Overview
This video walks you through the process of installing a Blade Seal on a G4 Elite tonneau cover. The great thing about this video is that the process for installing all of the Fold-a-Cover seals is the same. So, even though this video is specific to the Blade Seal you can use this video to install a Bulb Seal or the L-Seal with no issue.
The key to remember when installing a blade/bulb/L Seal is that the adhesive used is both temperature and pressure sensitive. This means that it’s going to be extremely important that you install the seal at or above 70º F AND that you use at least 15 lbs. of pressure across the full length and width of the adhesive. Using pressure to install the seal is the most important aspect of the seal installation process. We recommend using a roller of some type, but you can also use the rounded box-end of a wrench to apply the pressure. If you do use a wrench be sure to treat the underside of the seal with Armor All to reduce friction between the seal the wrench.
Once the new seal is installed, treat it with Armor All. This will reduce friction between the seal the your truck bed/tailgate allowing the seal to more easily slide into place and learn its new position.
Latch Timing Adjustments Video – Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite
In this video, we walk you through the process of making adjustments to the latch timing on a G4 Elite Fold-a-Cover. The latch cable that needs to be timed is specific to the G4 Elite Fold-a-Cover. Latch Timing is one of the final steps in the installation process, but it can make a big difference when it comes to the opening and closing of the panels of your tonneau cover. If your latch is timed too tight, then even a slight pressure could cause the latches to snap open. Conversely, if the latch timing is too loose, you won’t be able to use the lift handle to open the tonneau cover.
